In-Depth Information
The narrow winding streets of Essaouira's walled medina are a great place to stroll. Its
late-18th-century fortified layout is a prime example of European military architecture in
North Africa. The easiest place from which visitors can access the ramparts is the im-
pressive sea bastion Skala de la Ville OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP . By the harbour, the Skala
du Port OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP (adult/child Dh10/3; 8.30am-noon & 2.30-6pm) offers pictur-
esque views over both the fishing port and the Île de Mogador (boats from Port du Peche).
It's possible to rent water-sports equipment to Essaouira's wide sandy beach. Océan Vaga-
