Hassan II Mosque MOSQUE
The Hassan II Mosque is the world's third-largest mosque, built to commemorate the
former king's 60th birthday. The mosque (and its 210m minaret) rises above the ocean on
an outcrop northwest of the medina, a vast building that holds 25,000 worshippers and a
further 80,000 in the squares around it. To see the interior you must take a guided tour (

quiet street south of the city centre, the Astrid offers the most elusive element of Casa's
budget hotels: a good night's sleep. There's little traffic noise here and the spacious, well-
kept rooms with frilly decor all have bathrooms.
