ethos, warm welcome and decor.

al ingredients, a glam cocktail bar, and the occasional live jazz act, Blue House fits the bill
for a date or special evening. In the furthest part of Congo Town, it's about a 20- to
30-minute drive from the city centre.

and the Atlantic. Downstairs, there's a food menu and a party vibe on weekend nights.
Climb the wooden staircase for sea views, waiter service and relaxed tables shielded from
rainy-season downpours by stylish shower curtains.

line the wide verandah at Tides, which looks out over the ocean. Inside, find the cocktail
list scribbled on a blackboard (try the bissap margarita), a pool table and a long bar be-
neath a safari-lodge ceiling. The kitchen - which serves sandwiches, cassava fries and
crispy fried plantain, known as kelewele - opens after 4.30pm. There are movie nights and
special events.
JR's Beach Bar BAR
(Mamba Point beach; afternoons & evenings) Take any one of the beach tracks from Mamba Point
Rd and you'll stumble upon JR's Beach Bar, Rasta Bar, Miami Beach or any of the other
beach bars that are popping up here. Rasta Bar has a pool table.
