Takoradi
POP 445,000
Takoradi was just a fishing village until it was chosen as Ghana's first deep-water seaport;
since then it has prospered. Now feeding on Ghana's oil boom, Takoradi (or Taadi, as it's
known) is growing larger by the day.
There isn't much for visitors here, but the town is an important transport hub so you're
bound to go through it at some stage.
