Getting Around
TO/FROM THE AIRPORT
It is essential that you allow plenty of time to get to the airport: even though it is relatively
close to the city centre, it can only be accessed through one of Accra's most congested
roads. A one-hour journey is common, two or three hours not unheard of.
A taxi from the airport to the centre should cost around C10.
TRO-TROS & TAXIS
Shared taxis and tro-tros travel on fixed runs from major landmarks or between major
circles, such as Danquah Circle, 37 Circle and Nkrumah Circle OFFLINE MAP
GOOGLE MAP (usually just called 'Circle'), the centre of Accra's public-transport
universe. It can be quite daunting for newcomers, but Ghanaians are experts at navigating
the system and will readily direct you or take you under their wing if they're travelling in
the same direction.
