spired restaurant is built around the concept of an Asian grill, meaning you have the rare
treat of choosing the raw ingredients for your personalised stir-fry and watching them be-
ing cooked - unless you wish to relax over an original local fruit cocktail while the attent-
ive staff bring your plate over. Spread across a large garden, tables grant a couple-enticing
amount of privacy.

ers' horticultural techniques, attend cookery classes (minimum of four people, per person US$19) and taste an or-
ganic Gambian stew in the restaurant (US$9 including tour). Do phone before setting out so they can prepare for
your visit. A return trip from the coastal resorts by taxi will cost around D80.

( 4391464; Serekunda; 10am-2am) For a good draught beer and a solid dose of local gossip,
there's no better place than this German-style beer garden. It's popular with overlanders.
Hearty international fare is useful to line the stomach with all that beer flowing freely.
