LAND
Burkina Faso
Passenger train services (36 hours, three times a week) run between Abid-
jan and Bobo-Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. Romantic in a gritty way, the Abid-
jan-Ouagadougou sleeper takes two days. Contact
Sitarail
( 20-208000)
.
Ghana
It will take you about three hours to reach the crossing at Noé from Abidjan. Note
that the border shuts at 6pm promptly, accompanied by a fancy flag ceremony.
Guinea
The most frequently travelled route to Guinea is between Man and N'zérékoré,
either through Danané and Nzo or Biankouma and Sipilou. The Liberia-Guinea border
closes at 6pm each day.
Liberia
Minibuses and shared taxis make the quick hop from Danané to the border at
Gbé-Nda. A bus takes this route from Abidjan to Monrovia (two days) several times a
week. From Monrovia, plan on about three days to cross through Guinea and board a bus
for Abidjan.
