San Pédro
Framed by a strip of soft, white sand on one side, and the distant shadows of the fertile Parc

) on the other, a stop in San Pedro promises a sweet marriage
of beach life and forest treks. It's also the best place to overnight if you're heading over-
land into Liberia via Tabou and Harper.

UTB buses link San Pédro with Abidjan once daily (CFA5000). Shared taxis go west to
the balmy
beaches
of Grand-Béréby (CFA2500) and east to Sassandra (CFA3000). For Harp-
er, just across the Liberian border, you can take a shared taxi to Tabou (about CFA4000),
then continue on by a combination of road and boat; it's not worth attempting in the rainy
season.
