In-Depth Information
TAP has daily flights from Lisbon to Praia in peak season (five weekly otherwise), six
weekly to Sal and two weekly to São Vicente.
Various charter flights fly to Sal and Boa Vista from the UK, Germany and Italy. These
are generally the cheapest way of getting to the islands. See www.thomson.co.uk and
www.tuifly.com for more.
From West Africa, TACV flies between Praia and Dakar (Senegal) three to four times
weekly. Sénégal Airlines has four flights weekly to/from Dakar, with connections to most
major West African cities.

Getting Around
AIR
TACV serves all the inhabited islands except Brava and Santo Antão.
Internal flights are slightly cheaper (note that we said cheaper, not cheap) if you buy
tickets in Cape Verde.
If you're taking two or more internal flights, you may want to purchase TACV's Cabo
Verde AirPass (available from travel agencies abroad but not in Cape Verde). You have to
arrive by TACV to qualify.
Note that flights are regularly cancelled, often without passengers being advised. Al-
ways reconfirm your flight one day before.
If flights are full it's well worth flying standby as no-shows are common.
The cheapest TACV flights are at least CVE4500; the run between Praia and São Vi-
cente , for example, is at least CVE7500.
BOAT
There are boat connections to all nine inhabited islands, although most on are cargo ships
and not fit for passengers.
The only reliable scheduled services are between Praia, Brava and Fogo, and between
Mindelo (São Vicente) and Santo Antão.
Seas can be rough and the crossings rocky, especially during winter months.
