Mindelo is a city to savour, taste and experience. Its colonial heart is centred on Rua da
Libertad d'Africa, also known as Rua de Lisboa, which runs from the oceanfront to Palácio
de Presidente OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP , a pink colonial confection that now serves as
the island's supreme court.
Heading about 1km north via the coastal road, Avenida Marginal, you'll reach Prainha
Laginha , the pleasant town beach. It may be ringed by industrial-looking silos, but its wa-
ters are clean and crystal clear.
