Definitely one of Bamenda's
smarter choices, the Mondial is a little more modern than its equivalents elsewhere,
though bathrooms are in a poor state and the swimming pool sits forlorn and empty. The
otherwise comfortable rooms come with hot water, balconies and satellite TV.

Dreamland doesn't look like much from the
outside, but inside it's a well set out establishment with a large menu. There's a daily
lunchtime buffet (CFA3500 per person) and a choice of grills, salads, fish and soups the
rest of the time.

This cute little shack with red tablecloths
and friendly service serves up simple Cameroonian fare such as fried chicken and
plantains or meat grills with rice.

The food here is a standard blend
of Cameroonian and slightly better Western fare. The real drawcard is the surrounds, spe-
cifically a workshop of regional handicrafts, a shop with a superb collection of handcraf-
ted souvenirs and great views of Bamenda below.
