You'll find banks and internet cafes in Bohicon, 9km east of Abomey.
Tourist Office ( 95 79 09 45, 94 14 67 30; Office du Tourisme d'Abomey; 9am-1pm & 3-6pm Mon-Fri,
9am-4pm Sat) Has some interesting brochures and can provide information about Abomey's
main sights. It also keeps a list of accredited guides (some of whom speak English) and
can arrange guided tours. Ask for Gabin Djimassé, the knowledgeable director. It's near
the Rond-Point de la Préfecture.
Getting There & Away
Plenty of bush taxis depart from Cotonou (CFA3000, three hours), sometimes with a con-
nection at Bohicon. Zemi-johns (CFA800) frequently run between Abomey and Bohicon.
ATT and Confort Lines buses (between Cotonou and Natitingou) stop in Bohicon on
the way.
