Directions
From central Tucson, head north on Swan Road to Skyline Drive, passing the
DeGrazia Gallery to your right; turn left (west) on Skyline and drive 1 mile, then turn
right (north) on Alvernon Way and drive 1 mile to the parking area. Alternatively,
head north on Campbell Avenue to Skyline Drive, turn right (east), and drive 0.4 mile
to where Skyline forks and becomes Sunrise Drive. Take the left fork to continue on
Skyline another 0.7 mile to Alvernon Way, and turn left (north) to reach the parking
area.
From I-10, take Exit 250/Orange Grove Road and drive 7 miles to Skyline
Drive, then drive 1.1 miles to the fork with Sunrise Drive, continuing on Skyline to
Alvernon.
Note:
Alvernon Way, a main street crossing most of central Tucson, does not have
a bridge across the Rillito River. Therefore, the trailhead must be approached from
Skyline Drive, as described above.
