In-Depth Information
Hutch's Pool or the Phoneline Trail in reverse. The only facilities here are benches;
there was a restroom here until July 31, 2006, when a memorably massive monsoon
storm caused rockslides in the upper canyon that washed away the entire facility and
parts of the road.
Nearby Attractions
The Sabino Canyon Visitor Center, open daily, 8.30 a.m.-4.30 p.m., has information
and useful free brochures. It also offers a small but interesting exhibit about the his-
tory, geology, and wildlife of the canyon, a short movie in the theater, and a gift shop
with a fine selection of maps, books, and Sabino Canyon paraphernalia. The visitor
center is also the Coronado National Forest Ranger Station; the rangers can answer
questions about Mount Lemmon and the Catalina Foothills, all of which lie within the
forest.
