also gives access to Bluff Trail #51, leading to Sabino Canyon Road (0.2 mile) and
other trails paralleling the main trail.
Above the dam is so-called Sabino Lake, which is dry in summer and a shallow
pond in other months. Below the dam, water holes and sliding rocks are popular with
kids in spring and fall, but dry in summer. Whichever side of the dam you end up on,
continue about 0.3 mile to the road bridge that you crossed near the beginning of the
hike, and return along the road and wide, flat track to the parking area.
