Passive control of cell division via LbL approach. (a) The number of
tannic acid/poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone) (PVPON) LbL layers controlled the
cell division. (b) The crosslinking of the LbL layers composed of
catechol-grafted polyethyleneimine (PEI-C) and catechol-grafted hyal-
uronic acid (HA-C), as well as the number of the layers, controlled the
cell division. (c) Halloysite was incorporated into the LbL shells for the
yeast encapsulation, which retarded the cell division compared with
the native yeast.
