The Grand Loop Road parallels Antelope Creek for about 1.5 miles (2.4 km). From 1935
until 1942 a “show herd” of about 30 bison was kept near Antelope Creek.

A short road to the south leads to a parking area with access to a section of the
Howard Eaton trail. The trail is now often closed for bear management (see “Bear Manage-
ment Area” on
page 133
).

Barred road to the north is the south end of the 2-mile-long (3.2 km) Old Chit-
tenden Service Road Trail that starts at Tower Fall Campground.
