In-Depth Information
Cave Falls takes its name from a large cave to the left of the picture.
Parking is available on the right at 0.9 mile. From here you can walk a short distance to
Cave Falls of the Fall River. In 2008 the namesake cave collapsed and filled with rocks; it can
no longer be entered. Falling over a lava flow, Cave Falls is remarkably broad, 250 feet wide
and 20 feet high (76 m by 6 m).
Two-tenths of a mile beyond the Cave Falls parking area are picnic tables
and the Bechler River Trailhead. The trail follows the river north to Bechler Falls in about a
mile. Continue on to join several backcountry trails.
