Even though, these days, it's very far from a city in the jungle (more like a city sur-
rounded by palm oil plantations!) there are pockets of old growth forest to discover in
and around KL that are havens for wildlife and sanctuaries for soaring tropical trees
and plants. Easily accessible from KL are major national parks, such as Taman
Negara, home to much of the amazing flora and fauna that once blanketed Peninsular
Malaysia.
