Straits Quay is located about 7km northwest of George Town; buses 101 and 104 pass
the mall (RM4), and a taxi here will cost about RM20. Enquire about a shuttle boat from
the Eastern & Oriental Hotel to the mall.

This old shophouse is literally stuffed full of old adverts, pack-
ages, tins, ceramics, toys and other quasi-antiques. Located roughly across from Banana
Boutique Hotel.

This interesting outlet sells a colourful, bewildering as-
sortment of religious statues, furniture and temple supplies; if you're after a huge Chinese
couch, a household shrine or have RM55,000 to spend on a 2m-tall carved-wood Buddha,
this is the place to come. Even if you're not buying, it's still worth a look around.

GURNEY PLAZA

Penang's classiest mall, with international chain stores such
as the Body Shop and Esprit. Mac users will find an Apple store here, and there's a
massive music shop, bookshop and several electronics outlets. There's also a mini theme
park, fitness centre and a health spa. Gurney Plaza is located about 3km west of George
Town; a taxi here will set you back RM15.
