SEPANG CIRCUIT
( 03-8778 2222; www.sepangcircuit.com ) The Sepang Circuit, located 30km south of Putrajaya
and a 10-minute drive east of KLIA, is where Formula 1 holds the Malaysian Grand Prix
every March or April. Tickets go for as little as RM100, which in 2009 included access to
an after-race party that was headlined by top international music acts.
During the three days of the grand prix, plenty of special train and bus transport to the
circuit is on offer, from around RM80 return from KL's city centre.
Other car and motorcycle races are held here throughout the year - check the website
for details. On nonrace days call ahead to book a tour of the facilities, which includes
entry to the auto museum ( 9am-6pm) F ; or take a spin on the go-karting track (RM40 for 10
minutes). Check the website for track days when the circuit is open to wannabe Michael
Schumachers to rev up their own cars (RM200) or motorbikes (below 250cc RM70, over
250cc RM100).
