Between the Islamic Arts Museum and the Planetarium is the surprisingly interesting
Royal Malaysia Police Museum MAP GOOGLE MAP (5 Jln Perdana; 10am-6pm Tue-Sun, closed
12.30-2.30pm Fri) F . Inside you can watch videos, olice uniforms and vehicles, and peruse a
collection of old swords, cannons and kris. There are also some handmade guns and
knives seized from members of criminal Chinese 'secret societies' and communists during
the Emergency (see Click here ) .
EATING IN THE PARK
KL Bird Park's Hornbill Restaurant ( Click here ), outside the aviary's entrance, is one of the best places to eat if
you seek air-conditioning (it also has an outdoor terrace). For tasty hawker food there's Kompleks Makan Tanglin
( Click here ) uphill behind the National Mosque. There are more hawker stalls on Jln Cenderasari near the
ampitheatre and a kiosk cafe, open 9am to 6pm, in the boathouse in Perdana Botanical Garden.
A hop-on, hop-off electric tram (adult/child RM2/1) shuttles around the park's major attractions from
9.30am to 5pm daily; there are stops beside the Masjid Negara and Islamic Arts Museum, and the tram
also stops at Dataran Merdeka (but not between 11.30am and 2pm or after 4pm Monday to Friday).
Rent bicycles (and a helmet and lock) and pick up a route map from KL By Cycle (KL City Gallery, 27 Jln Raja,
Datran Merdeka; per four hours RM30, per additional hour RM5, deposit RM250;
