DRINKING & NIGHTLIFE
There are also several bars and cafes at CapSquare (

and Asian Heritage
Row but neither location has managed to consistently attract the party crowd.
OMAKASE + APPRECIATE
COCKTAIL BAR
(
www.facebook.com/OmakaseAppreciate
; Basement, Bangunan Ming Annexe, 9 Jln Ampang; 5pm-1am Wed-Sun;
Masjid Jamek)
Shawn Chong and Karl Too are the expert mixologists at this cosy, retro
cocktail bar that's one of KL's top secret drinking spots. Sip sophisticated concoctions such
as an Earl Grey Mar-tea-ni. Part of the fun is finding the entrance: look for the sign saying
'no admittance'.
BAR
COLISEUM CAFE
(

;
100 Jln TAR; 10am-10pm; Masjid Jamek)
The kind of bar in
which colonial planters and clerks would have knocked back stouts and G'n'Ts while
moaning about the natives. This 1921-era watering hole oozes nostalgia and is worthy of a
visit even if you don't eat a meal at the adjoining grill room.
BISTRO RICHARD
CAFE, BAR
( 4041 3277;

; Lot 268 Jln Strachan, Sentul West; 2-11pm Tue-Fri, noon-11pm Sat &
Sun; Sentul)
A French style cafe-bar complete with checked red tablecloths in the sur-
rounds of a Japanese Zen rock garden is slightly culturally confusing. Nonetheless, this bis-
tro is a very pleasant place for a drink whether or not you happen to be attending a show at
adjacent KLPAC.
