7.1 Introduction
Palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions (e.g., Suzuki, Mizoroki-Heck,
Negishi, Buchwald-Hartwig reactions) have become the premier approach to
forge carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds. Over the past several
decades, major developments in this field have been achieved that have
allowed many exceptionally challenging cross-couplings to be realized,
facilitating the step-ecient synthesis of complex pharmaceuticals and
biologically active natural products. Despite these enormous advances,
opportunities exist to find new reactivity that can further diversify the range
