Kefi
$$
GREEK
Whitewashed Kefi is the domain of chef Michael Psilakis, whose rustic Hellenic cooking
could make the toughest Greek weep. Swoon over winners like spicy lamb sausage,
sheep-milk dumplings and succulent grilled octopus. The four-spread platter is finger-
licking good, as is the flat pasta with braised rabbit. Toast to the old country with a com-
prehensive selection of Greek vintages (from $24 per bottle).

Jacob's Pickles
$$
AMERICAN
Jacob's elevates the humble pickle to dizzying highs. Aside from briny cukes and other
preserves, you'll find heaping portions of upscale comfort food, such as catfish tacos,
wine-braised turkey leg dinner, and mushroom mac and cheese. The biscuits and regional
craft beers are top notch too.

Barney Greengrass
$$
Self-proclaimed 'King of Sturgeon' Barney Greengrass serves up the same heaping dishes
of eggs and salty lox, luxuriant caviar, and melt-in-your mouth chocolate babkas that first
made it famous when it opened a century ago. Pop in to fuel up in the morning or for a
quick lunch; there are rickety tables set amid the crowded produce aisles.
