Housing Works Thrift Shop
VINTAGE
As at the other Housing Works around town, shopping here can be a bit hit-or-miss. On
good days, you might score a designer jacket, flattering jeans or a haute handbag. The
threads are generally in excellent condition - if not new - and sold at mere-mortal prices.
Extras include books, CDs and housewares. It gets crowded on weekends.

Encore
This A-list consignment store has been emptying out Upper East Side closets since the
1950s. (Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis used to sell her clothes here.) Expect a gently worn
string of high-end couture from the likes of Louboutin, Fendi and Dior. Prices are high but
infinitely better than retail.
