In the winter, when Snowmass and nearby Aspen are buzzing with skiers, Anderson
Ranch buzzes with its own sport—artists who have landed a coveted spot in the ranch's pop-
ular residency program. Working artists from around the world vie for one- to six-months use
of the ranch's wide selection of kilns, Apple G-5 computers, and Fischer Photography Center.
“In an art world where it's typical for people to carry their loneliness to museums and
galleries, seeking fashion, social visibility and self-importance, Anderson Ranch represents a
rare opportunity for authenticity, communion and growth,” says Enrique Martinez Celaya, a
painter, poet and 2005 visiting artist in printmaking.
Tuition for the summer workshops, including lab fees, starts at about $800 per week
(children's and teen classes are cheaper), to which you add on-campus room and board costs
of $540 for simple dorm rooms to $1,400 per week for a three-bedroom condo near the ranch,
with several meal plan options.
