Owning your own motor home is certainly a leg up, especially if you'd like to volunteer
as a campground host, but sometimes the park will offer a cabin, as Death Valley did when a
photographer offered to document petroglyphs in the park.
Generally, you'll be asked for a commitment of time that will vary from part of the sea-
son to the full season. Park seasons vary as well. For instance, the Glacier National Park sea-
son runs three to four months, while Big Bend is open year-round.
