Airports & Airlines
THE SOUTH
Two airports handle international flights in the Republic. Note that on most airline schedules, Larnaka is listed as 'Lar-
naca' and Pafos as 'Paphos'. This is particularly important to know when making online bookings. Cyprus Airways is
the national carrier of the Republic of Cyprus.
Larnaka Airport ( % 2481 6130; www.cyprusairports.com.cy )
Pafos Airport ( % 2624 0506; www.cyprusairports.com.cy )
THE NORTH
Ercan airport (ECN; % 231 4806), located 14km east of North Nicosia (Lefkoşa) in Northern Cyprus, is not recognised
by the international airline authorities, so you can't fly there direct. Airlines must touch down first in Turkey and then
fly on to Northern Cyprus. Ercan is smaller than Pafos airport and facilities are simple, but its arrivals and departure
halls both have a bank of ATMs and a couple of cafes. Car hire must be arranged beforehand.
The Kibhas airport shuttle ( www.kibhas.org ) has regular departures to Kyrenia, Farmagusta and North Nicosia from
the airport, timed so that they meet most flights.
Northern Cyprus is served primarily by Turkish Airlines, Pegasus Airlines and Onur Air.
