In-Depth Information
TIME ZONE

DAYLIGHT SAVING
Cyprus uses daylight saving time during the summer months. Clocks go forward one hour on the last weekend in March
and back one hour on the last weekend in October.
CURRENT TIME
A recorded time message can be heard by dialling 193 in the Republic of Cyprus.
TOILETS
Most toilets will display a sign requesting that you do not flush toilet paper as, due to poor island-wide plumbing, this
can easily cause a blockage. Wastepaper baskets are provided for this purpose. It is also a wise idea to carry a small
packet of tissues with you when you are out and about.
The majority of public toilets are free, while some charge a small fee. You can also use the public facilities in a bar or
cafe, although it is standard to offer a small sum or buy a drink in return.
