TROÖDOS MOUNTAINS
Troödos
Troödos Forest Park has four campgrounds. The Troödos campground is best for longer
stays. The other three sites, Platania, Kampi tou Kalogyrou and Prodromos dam, are also
good but are designed for shorter stays or weekenders and have more basic facilities.

Jubilee HOTEL
( % 2542 0107; www.jubileehotel.com ; low-high s €35-50, d €70-95; paiW )
This long established hotel is 350m from the village on the Prodromos road. It's the best
place to stay during the snow season for access to the slopes; the sitting rooms are suitably
cosy with fireplaces, warm colour schemes and card tables. The hotel is undergoing consid-
erable renovation that should be completed by spring 2015; prices may alter slightly.
Platres
Colonial Britain still lingers in the mountain hotels: most have a very old-world feel to
them and are full of character. Agrotourism is becoming more and more popular throughout
the villages, with some great options now available.
Petit Palais HOTEL

Located right on the main crossroad in town and impossible to miss, this Alpine-style hotel
is very good value. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with parquet floors and a play-
it-safe cream colour scheme. All have balconies; the corner rooms have two (No 100 is a
good choice). There's a large sun terrace and a downstairs restaurant and bar.
