One really great place for the kids, where they get to wear uncomfortable shoes and share in Homer Simpson's
great passion, is this bowling centre, located right behind the Hilton Park Hotel to the west of the New City. The
cafe, which has snacks and drinks, will allow kids to share in his other passion (the fast food one).

For more dedicated big-time playground entertainment, consider heading to the appropriately named Extreme
Park southwest of the centre. The park has vast indoor/outdoor playgrounds complete with climbing wall, inflat-
able slides, bungee trampolines, rope obstacle course, minigolf, soccer, bowling, kiddie cinema and three cafeteri-

In recent years the square and pedestrian zone surrounding the Faneromeni Church in the Old City has evolved
into a buzzing cafe scene. There are more than half a dozen independently owned coffee shops and cafes with
tables and chairs sprawled across the Plateia Faneromenis within confessional distance of this picturesque church.
Just as fast, it seems, idiosyncratic small craft shops and galleries are opening, contributing to the dynamic youth-
ful feel of the place. Apparently rents have plummeted in this historic part of town as part of a conscious move by
local authorities to revitalise the neighbourhood.
