Tight on space but big on boho-urban atmosphere, the menu here features locally sourced
produce which is, as far as possible, organic. Dishes change daily but typical mains are
Thai curry, oven-baked pork chops marinated in lemon juice and thyme, and inventive
salads with ingredients like blue cheese, figs, pecans and cranberries. The Saturday
brunch is justifiably popular.
Pinakothiki CYPRIOT

Set in a fittingly contemporary space with glossy black and soothing cream decor and a
long bar with stools for sipping pre-dinner cocktails. Dishes are light and appetising, in-
cluding oven-baked salmon, duck pancakes in ginger-spiked soy sauce, and six different
salads. There's an ample children's menu.
Sawa MIDDLE EASTERN

Known throughout the town for its superb Syrian dishes and fabulous sultan's-palace-style
setting, with an elaborate carved-stone exterior, bubbling fountains and an elegant dining
room. The mezes are recommended, ideally accompanied by a bottle of Lebanese Ksara
riesling. Reservations essential.
Mediterranean SEAFOOD

Seafood lovers should head here to enjoy superbly fresh fish dishes. A seafood platter for
two costs a reasonable €25; or push the boat out with the lobster spaghetti with a whole
lobster for just €18.
CHILDREN'S CYPRUS: NICOSIA
Unlike the seaside towns and resorts, Nicosia is not immediately appealing to children, although Nicosians are
child-friendly, as are most Cypriots. There are no professional baby-sitting services in the city, as so many famil-
ies seem to have their own live-in nannies.
