Phenomenal weather and perfect beaches have transformed this unassuming fishing village
into every young hedonist's favourite European party-holiday destination. Gorgeous white
sandy beaches and literally hundreds of clubs and bars have made it a Disneyland for club-
bers the world over.
The central square is surrounded with every incarnation of themed club you can imagine,
with places dedicated to the Flintstones, Arthurian legend and '70s cop shows, to name a
few, and world-famous DJs play headline acts here every summer. High season is June to
August, when it can be difficult to find a spot on the beach, let alone accommodation.
Agia Napa is not everyone's cup of tea and has its fair share of detractors, who decry its
brash tackyness, as well as devotees. In recent years the municipality has made a push to-
wards more family tourism, which has increased dramatically, but Napa (as many visitors
refer to it) is still where the party is at its hardest. If you're looking for nightlife this is the
place to come. If you just want to experience the gorgeous coastline that first brought this
region into the spotlight you might be more comfortable in one of the resorts just outside
town or in nearby Protaras.
