Eating
Larnaka has a variety of eateries, ranging from souvlaki bars to gourmet restaurants. Most
places can be found on or just off the Finikoudes promenade, with one or two hidden
gems in the back streets. Dinners are usually available after 7pm, in keeping with Cypri-
ots' big-lunch, late-siesta lifestyle. Often good restaurants won't be full until 10pm.
To Kafe
INTERNATIONAL
This cute little cafe, squirreled away just off the main coastal drag, does excellent
homemade soups, crispy salads and a mighty fine piece of cake. The outside seating - in a
narrow alleyway off the street - is a good place to put your feet up for a light bite.
Chris' Kebab
FAST FOOD
This tiny souvlaki bar has just a handful of outdoor tables. Try the soft chicken pita with
homemade tahina sauce for extra tang. Watch out for the sea spray on windy days.

Art Cafe 1900
CYPRIOT
With art prints and photos covering the wall, and shelves laden with bric-a-brac, Art Cafe
1900 is by far Larnaka's most atmospheric dining choice. The small menu dishes up cook-
ing the way a Cypriot mamma would and there's a decent choice for vegetarians.
Italia Spagetteria
ITALIAN
This intimate venue has an extensive menu of well-priced, authentic Italian (loads of
pasta, pizzas and steaks) with friendly service and imported Italian beers to wash it down.
If you're after a carbohydrate-fix, it fits the bill nicely.
