Geroskipou's main appeal in the exceptional meze available here. Owner George and his family have grown,
dried or pickled (organically) everything you eat and drink in this place. Your meze only includes what is in sea-
son so you might get hand-picked wild asparagus, wild mushrooms with fresh herbs, aubergines in tomato, or
tender kleftiko (oven-baked lamb).
The restaurant is in an old house with a vine-and-palm-leaf-covered terrace, in the centre of this pretty, tradi-
tional village near a striking 9th-century Byzantine church.

This restaurant is a green oasis with trees, statues and trickling waterfalls. Still family-run
after four generations, owner Georgios is passionate about his traditional cuisine; most of
the recipes have been passed down from his grandmother and the produce comes from his
own 60-hectare garden. A member of the Vakhis scheme ( Click here ) , the restaurant also
has a lighter snack menu.
There are homemade desserts and the wine list includes excellent vintages from family-
owned local vineyards. Special diets are catered to and the dining space is expandeding to
encompass a spanking new spa.

Tucked up a side street behind the Municipal Market, with all the atmosphere of a village
taverna, Laona has been a family-owned restaurant since the '80s. There's no microwave
or deep fat fryer in this kitchen - Cypriot owner Chris has a purposefully limited menu of
freshly made and tasty traditional Cypriot dishes like rabbit stifado (stew made with beef
or rabbit and onions, simmered in vinegar and wine), stuffed vegetables and meze.

This slick contemporary wine bar and restaurant has a limited menu of well-prepared
dishes like spinach and wild mushroom pasta and salmon teriyaki. There are also salads,
sandwiches and platters for sharing as well as a fine selection of wine - touted as being
the most extensive in town.
