This annual solar car race revs into action every June, attracting local teams and interna-
tional participants who compete in creating and racing their solar-powered cars with some
truly ingenious results.

Parents, if you're on holiday with your teenage kids - or equally, teenagers, if you're on holiday with your par-
ents - and you want a break from, well, each other, get over to Zephyros Adventure Sports and take your pick of
activities. You can choose from mountain biking, kayaking, climbing, trekking, snorkelling, scuba diving and, in
the winter months, skiing. It's a perfect way to play happy families.
Alternatively, go on one of the hikes around the Akamas Peninsula. Plenty of outfits offer 4WD safaris, but
bear in mind their environmental impact, including soil erosion, excessive fossil-fuel use and noise pollution, and
resist if you can.

Eating
Pafos' food scene varies considerably. In general, stay away from restaurants along the
front-line strip in Kato Pafos, especially those with HP sauce bottles on the tables. Instead,
wander back a street or two for more genuine local food. Ktima has more quality over
quantity choice, including a couple of superb options.
