Around Omodos
The extensive vineyards of the
krasohoria
(wine villages) occupy the scenic slopes
around Omodos. This is a traditional winemaking region where, up until around the
1960s, every house had its own winemaking tools. To this day you'll find that many vil-
lages sell a variety of traditional grape products like
soujoukos
(grapes blended with al-
monds),
espima
(grape honey) and
palouze
(grape sweets).
