Pafos & the West
Best Beaches
You can still find unspoiled beaches here, especially on the Akamas Peninsula. Closer to
Pafos, there are more pleasant stretches, many with adjacent tavernas or beach bars where
you can grab a bite overlooking the surf and/or sitting on a stool with sand between your
toes.
Magnificent Mosaics
The Pafos Archaeological Site, with its superb mosaics, should be your first stop, but don't
make it your only one; visit the other sites, including the Tombs of the Kings and the cata-
combs.
Wild Countryside
For a glimpse of untamed Cyprus, consider one of the Akamas Peninsula's treks, visit the
villages in the western foothills or wonder at the towering trees in the bucolic Cedar Valley.
