Noses
There is a great variety of muzzle shapes among puppies. For example, col-
lies and greyhounds have long, slender muzzles, while bulldogs, pugs, and
shar-peis have flat, “squashed” snouts with many wrinkles. In the illustra-
tion above, you can see (left to right) a Shetland sheepdog puppy, a golden
retriever puppy, which has a square, boxy muzzle, and a shar-pei. Of
course, these features are softer and less pronounced in a puppy than they
are in an adult dog.
