Foal Eyelashes
This drawing shows some eyelashes that have been scratched out. Do not
scratch too much, or the surface of the paper will become rough.

Kittens are my favorite subject to draw, and the eyes are my favorite part. If
you are in doubt about where to place the highlight, practice with a dot of
white paint on an acetate overlay. The highlight frequently overlaps the
edge of the pupil into the iris. Placement of the highlight can affect whether
the animal appears to be looking at you or into the distance, so it is import-
ant. Not all kittens have as much color variation within their eyes, but I
thought these would be fun to draw.

Begin by filling in the entire eye with a layer of Brown Ochre. Layer
May Green over the center, and Spectrum Blue around that. Blend with a
tortillion. Add an Ivory Black pupil. Looks a little creepy so far, doesn't it?
