Part of learning how to sketch an animal freehand, rather than using a grid,
is learning to see the basic shapes that make up the animal's form. Ovals
and egg shapes are very common, but you will also use circles, cones, cyl-
inders and triangles. Adding curved guidelines to the head will help you
