Lay the grid over your photo and copy the lines in pencil onto tracing pa-
per. (If you are working from a black-and-white photocopy, make an extra
copy and draw the grid directly on the paper, or photocopy the image with
the acetate grid in place.)
Focusing on one square at a time, trace the outline of what you see in
each square. Gradually you will end up with a line drawing of your photo.

When your grid drawing is complete, use transfer paper under the tracing
paper to transfer the line sketch to your final drawing surface. Do not trans-
fer the grid lines. When you are finished with your drawing, save the grid
so you can reuse it.
