Refine the drawing with delicate strokes of the 2B pencil. Fill in tone with the French
Grey pastel pencil, and blend with a cotton swab. Draw the eye with the 2B pencil,
leaving the highlight as plain paper.

Develop the Form
Add details to the beak and feet with a 4H pencil, and blend with a tortillion. Begin
developing the feathers with the 2B pencil, then blend. Use the tortillion to soften the
edges of the chick's body.
