Cottontail rabbits are a familiar (but not always welcome) sight to garden-
ers almost everywhere. A baby rabbit is called a “bunny,” while a baby hare
is called a “leveret.” Rabbits and other prey animals have eyes positioned
on the sides of their heads, to give them wider peripheral vision that helps
them watch for predators. Predators, on the other hand, have eyes located
more toward the front of the head to help them pinpoint their prey.
1 Sketch and Transfer
Begin by sketching the bunny onto tracing paper with the 2B pencil, using your pre-
ferred method. When the sketch is complete, transfer only the necessary lines lightly
onto bristol board.
