Sketch and Transfer
With a 2B pencil, sketch the kitten on tracing paper, using either the basic shapes
method or the grid method. When you are satisfied with the sketch, transfer only the
most necessary lines onto the Canson paper. If you are using a window or a light box
for tracing, you can skip to step 2 and fill in with color so you don't have pencil
lines. Otherwise, make your transferred lines as light as possible by lifting with an
eraser.
TRACE LIGHTLY
When transferring a drawing that you will create in color, it is important to transfer
the drawing lightly. If you press too hard, you will make indented lines that are im-
