2 Begin the Fur Markings
With the 2B pencil, begin laying in the fur markings on the head. Vary the pressure
on the pencil to create lighter and darker marks. Draw the pupils and outline of the
eyes, and shade the tops of the eyeballs. Blend with a tortillion. Dot in highlights
with white watercolor paint and a small round brush.
3 Develop the Fur
Keep adding the fur markings on the body as you did on the head. Do not add much
shading in the white fur areas; you will add shading there with a dirty tortillion later.
Switch to the 4B pencil for the darkest fur. Remember that your pencil strokes should
follow the direction of hair growth.
