Shopping
Porto shopping ranges from dusty food shops to chic fashion boutiques. In some areas, en-
tire streets specialise in particular items (try Rua da Fábrica for bookshops). Rua Santa
Catarina near Praça da Batalha is a bustling, all-purpose shopping street, and style hounds
will love Rua da Bombarda, home to nearly a dozen art galleries and a growing collection
of clothing and interior boutiques.
It's great fun buying direct from the warehouses in Vila Nova de Gaia, but for vintage
port and high-quality wines at reasonable prices you can also try
Garrafeira do Carmo
A Vida Portuguesa
