BAR
(Rua das Carmelitas 162) Artwork lines the walls of this cosy, low-lit Baixa bar popular with a
younger grungy crowd. There's a mellow buzz to the place, making it a fine retreat from
the mayhem of nearby Rua Galeria de Paris. Step onto the tiny balcony for views of the
Torre dos Clérigos across the way.
Palácio de Cristal to Foz do Douro
All of the places listed here can be reached via the night bus 1M from Aliados.
Praia da Luz
(Av Brasil; 9am-2am) Praia da Luz is a worthwhile stop when out exploring Porto's coast-
line. It rambles over tiered wooden decks to its own private rocky cove, and while you
should probably skip the food, you should definitely enjoy a cocktail. Bring a sweater. It's
about 500m north of the Castelo de São João.
