The area's patron saint, São Pedro do Açor, is honoured with a Mass, religious procession,
ball, and a handicrafts fair during the Santos Populares no Piódão in late June or early July.

turismo . Cafes around the square do light meals.
Casa da Padaria

you arrive, this handsome house has an exceptionally friendly host and offers good value
for simple rustic rooms.

Casa de Xisto Piódão

tall, narrow house in the heart of the village sleeps up to six in comfort. There's not a lot
of space, but it's colourful and cosy. Minimum two-night stay.
COTTAGE

committee has kitted out these schist houses across a little valley from the centre, with
great views of the village. Each has two rooms with TV, private bathroom, kitchenette and
fireplace. You can rent just a room, or an entire house.

village, this government-run caricature of a local schist house has rather luxurious, mod-
ern rooms and a decent restaurant with vistas. It's a helpful, friendly place with an indoor
pool. Rates vary according to demand and you'll usually get a cheaper deal online.
O Fontinha
(mains €8; lunch & dinner Tue-Sun) A schist house in the heart of the village, this is a good
venue for simple, tasty local food like pork chops, trout or bacalhau .
